With its equivalent focal length of 75mm, the Sony 50mm f1.8 OSS lens is a must-have addition to your APS-C format Sony E-mount camera for capturing portraits and other subjects that benefit from a short-telephoto focal length. A bright f1.8 aperture works in unison with this focal length to blur-out backgrounds successfully, which makes the in-focus foregrounds the undisputed stars of the show. Another major drawcard of this handy prime lens is the built-in Optical SteadyShot stabilisation system, which corrects camera shake by up to 4 stops, so you can easily take this lens out shooting after sunset and still capture sharp pictures.

A liner AF system is included in the Sony 50mm f1.8 lens, performing smoothly, quietly and speedily, which is of obvious benefit when utilising the high-resolution video modes that Sony mirrorless cameras are capable of. Thanks to direct manual focus, you can swiftly make any necessary focus adjustments manually, without having to waste any critical time changing settings on your camera or lens. As well as a sleek and stylish aluminium finish, the Sony 50mm f1.8 OSS lens features an internal focus system, which provides an excellent closest focus of just 39cm, as well as ensuring the lens remains portable throughout usage.
