Scanstrut Ventura Red 50A Anderson Solar Input Socket

Scanstrut Ventura Red 50A Anderson Solar Input Socket

Establishing a secure and weatherproof connection for your portable solar panels is critical for any serious off-grid touring setup. The Scanstrut Ventura Red 50A Anderson Solar Input Socket delivers a highly robust, flush-mounted exterior port designed specifically for caravans, camper trailers, 4×4 overland rigs, and marine vessels. Instead of routing cables through open windows or relying on inferior external plugs that degrade under harsh UV exposure, this purpose-built socket allows you to plug your solar feed directly into your vehicle with absolute confidence.

Engineered for Extreme Outdoor Environments

Built from UV-stabilised, high-impact plastics and fitted with marine-grade 316 stainless steel components, this input socket is designed to withstand the rigorous demands of the Australian outdoors. When the protective lid is securely closed, the internal silicone gasket provides an impressive IP68 and IP69K waterproof rating at the front face. This means your electrical connections remain completely isolated from driving rain, saltwater spray, dust, and mud, drastically reducing the risk of corrosion and short circuits that frequently compromise unprotected exterior fittings.

High-Performance 50A Power Transfer

At the core of the Ventura Series solar port is the capability to house a standard red Anderson SB50 connector. Rated for a maximum of 50A when used with 6 AWG (approx. 16mm2) cable, it handles high-current solar arrays effortlessly. It supports a maximum DC voltage of 600V, making it fully compatible with standard 12V systems as well as higher-voltage 24V and 48V off-grid battery banks. You can comfortably transfer up to 600W on a 12V input, 1200W on a 24V input, or 2400W on a 48V input. *Note typical current de-rating factors apply depending on your specific cable sizing, installation method, and environmental temperatures. Please note that SB50 terminal crimps are not included and must be sourced separately from Anderson Power to match your specific cable size.

Clean and Simple Flush Mount Installation

The Ventura Series blends highly functional mechanical design with clean aesthetics, ensuring your vehicle or vessel maintains a professional finish. Installation requires only a standard 25mm (approx. 1.00 inch) holesaw, ensuring a neat flush mount against your exterior panels. The spring-loaded cover opens fully to 180 degrees for unobstructed access and features a convenient 90-degree holding bump to keep the lid steady while you plug in your panels. An integrated snap-lock tab ensures the cover remains firmly shut while in transit on corrugated roads.
