Scanstrut 4-9mm / 21mm Black Vertical Cable Seal

Scanstrut 4-9mm / 21mm Black Vertical Cable Seal: Reliable Watertight Cable Routing

Routing electrical cables through the roof of a vehicle, campervan, or boat deck introduces the risk of water ingress, which can lead to severe structural and electrical damage. The Scanstrut 4-9mm / 21mm Black Vertical Cable Seal mitigates this risk by providing an IP68-rated waterproof cable entry point. Designed to accommodate cables from 4-9mm (0.17-0.31″), this compact vertical cable seal offers a secure and aesthetically pleasing finish for your solar, lighting, or antenna wiring installations.

Advanced Multi-Bung System

Achieving a reliable seal around wiring can be challenging, especially when dealing with varying cable thicknesses. This kit includes multiple tapered rubber bungs that ensure a precision fit for your specific cable size, right out of the box. The innovative split-bung design allows you to route cables with pre-attached connectors up to 21mm (0.82″) in diameter without needing to cut or re-terminate the wiring, saving significant installation time and preserving factory connections. A self-drill blank bung is also supplied, providing complete flexibility for custom cable requirements.

Engineered for Harsh Environments

Australian conditions are notoriously unforgiving on exterior components. Constructed from a high-impact, UV-stable plastic, the black outer housing is built to withstand intense sun exposure without cracking or degrading over time. Its low-profile, aerodynamic dome shape not only looks incredibly sleek but is specifically designed to prevent water pooling and resist snagging from branches, lines, or other equipment. This makes it highly suitable for high-traffic marine decks and overlanding vehicle roofs alike.

Marine-Grade Hardware for Lasting Reliability

Unlike standard entry glands that rely on messy silicone sealants, this cable seal utilises a high-quality closed-cell foam 3M base gasket. When compressed by the supplied marine-grade 316 stainless steel fixings, the gasket creates a highly resilient barrier against moisture. The captive nut design in the base ensures that assembly is straightforward and allows for reliable, hassle-free repeat installations if you ever need to upgrade your wiring.
