MindShift FirstLight 40L Backpack

The MindShift FirstLight 40L Backpack is purpose-built for travelling photographers and trekkers who need serious carrying capacity without sacrificing comfort. At 40 litres, it meets carry-on restrictions for most airlines, making it the ideal travel companion for your camera gear and essentials.

This backpack delivers genuine versatility. The customisable main compartment with removable high density foam dividers adapts to your specific kit — whether that’s 2 DSLR bodies with vertical grips, 6-8 lenses, flashes, filters, or any combination you need. A dedicated 17-inch laptop compartment keeps your computer safe for on-the-go editing, while a 3L hydration pocket ensures you stay refreshed during long days in the field.

Organisation is thoughtful throughout. Multiple interior pockets, front pockets, side pockets, and top pockets keep batteries, memory cards, cables, and small accessories within easy reach. Tripods and monopods secure to the front or side of the bag via dedicated attachment points.

Comfort and durability are engineered in. The contoured harness system features 11 adjustment points to fit different body types, while an aluminium stay and ballistic nylon base provide support and longevity. Three sturdy grab handles make it simple to manoeuvre into overhead bins, and compression straps help minimise the bag’s profile and add extra attachment options.

Weather protection comes standard. The FirstLight features a durable water repellent exterior coating and polyurethane-coated underside to keep moisture out, plus it includes a rain cover for when conditions turn nasty.
