Sony E 55-210mm f4.5-6.3 OSS Zoom

A suitably portable Telephoto Zoom lensWith an 83-315mm equivalent zoom range (in 35mm terms), this Sony 55-210mm is excellent for reaching out and capturing distant subjects and will be considered a perfect companion to your wider angle kit lens. A solid performer at a bargain price, this Sony zoom lens does not betray the sleek and compact size of the rest of the Sony Alpha E-Mount range – this lens will offer a lot without adding too much bulk.

Keeping you steady during the action

The long zoom range offered by this Sony lens makes it a fitting partner for Sports and wildlife shooters – you won’t want to leave it behind when attending the next big Sports meet. Along with the long reaching magnification, is Sony’s excellent Optical SteadyShot stabiliser, on board to reduce the appearance of camera shake in your images. This stabilisation is particularly handy when you are shooting at the long end of the range and it will enable you to forget the tripod or monopod and keep your kit as light as possible. Handheld shooting can be performed confidently with the Sony 55-210mm.

Video-ready AF

Recognising that modern shooters don’t limit themselves to still image, Sony have included a smooth and quiet AF system in the 55-210mm lens, excellent for accompanying you in capturing HD movies. Thanks to internal focusing, autofocus performance is virtually inaudible, meaning your built-in microphone will not register any annoying noises, which can really distract from the quality of a home movie. Another benefit of this internal focusing system is its ability to achieve focus without an increase in size to the lens – further enhancing its portability and discreteness.
