Sony FE 50mm f2.5 G Lens

With performance and portability being the two key factors in the success of the Sony Alpha range of cameras, it is little wonder they would release this to their fans; three new compact prime lenses. One of these lenses is this standard lens, the FE 50mm f2.5 G. This lens has been designed for the full-frame models within the Alpha range, so you can enjoy the sharpness and detail provided by its premium optical design in unison with the best high-resolution sensors Sony has to offer. The bright f2.5 maximum aperture of this lens results in excellent low-light performance, while a physical aperture ring is included for hands-on adjustments to exposure and depth of field. A click/de-click switch is included so you can decide how this aperture ring functions.

Users looking to utilise the still shooting and video recording of their Sony Mirrorless camera are in luck; the FE 50mm f2.5 is notable for the fast and quiet autofocus provided by its dual linear AF motors. The lens features a focus hold button, a focus mode selector and a smooth manual focus ring, so you can choose between the fast AF and the intuitive linear response MF. These options result in a pleasing user experience and assure that the lens can slot nicely into your workflow.

This new range of Sony prime lenses are destined for life on the road, and thanks to its impressively sturdy build, it doesn’t matter what the conditions are like at the destination, it will always perform at its best. This lens features dust and moisture-resistance, as well as an aluminium build.
